Wrestler Narsingh Yadav has been cleared by United World Wrestling to participate in the Rio Olympics, according to Wrestling Federation of India President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. The National Anti-Doping Agency had exonerated the 26-year-old's name from any wrongdoing two days ago, after he failed two successive dope tests. Yadav's fate now lies in the hands of the World Anti-Doping Agency, which will take the final call on whether he is eligible to take part in the Games.
The NADA panel had concluded that a banned substance was found in Yadav's body, but it cleared him of charges because it was only a one-time ingestion and would have not given him any substantial gain. NADA also accepted his claim that he had been a victim of sabotage.
