A Russian chopper was shot down in Syria's Idlib city on Sunday, killing all five crew members on board, the Russian Defence Ministry said on Monday, according to Al Jazeera. The ministry said the Mi-8 military transport helicopter was shot down on its way back from delivering humanitarian aid to the city of Aleppo.
The area where the chopper was shot down is held by the rebels, while the Vladimir Putin government is supporting the Syrian regime. Two officers were among the crew members who died in the attack.
