Aam Aadmi Party member Bhagwant Mann has written a five-page letter to the Lok Sabha inquiry committee looking into the case related to him compromising Parliament security when he streamed a video from inside its premises, reported News18. In the letter, Mann maintained that the breach was unintentional and that he did not commit any mistake in recording the 12-minute video.

"I have not done any crime but if you think I'm wrong I tender an unconditional apology," he said. Sumitra Mahajan, Speaker of the Lower House, had set up a panel comprising nine members. Mahajan told Mann that he ought to refrain from coming to Parliament for the ongoing Monsoon Session till the probe panel came to a conclusion on the video. The Sangrur legislator has been asked to appear before the Kirit Somaiya Committee, which is likely to submit its report in August.

Earlier, Mann said if he was guilty of compromising the institution's security, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is at more fault for "inviting ISI" to investigate the January 2 Pathankot airbase attacks. Mann’s video showed various parts of Parliament premises and was uploaded on Facebook. Several leaders, including many from the Bharatiya Janata Party, had criticised his move and called it “highly irresponsible”. Mann had first defended his actions, but later apologised saying he meant no harm.
