Indian-origin American comic Aziz Ansari's Netflix series Master of None has bagged three Emmy nominations, reported Entertainment Weekly. The show, launched in October 2015, has been nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Writing and Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series. He is the first Indian-American actor to get Emmy nominations for his series.
“I’m very happy but it’s a very specific accomplishment," he says with a laugh.,” said the 33-year-old told USA Today. Ansari co-wrote and co-produced the show with Alan Yang. In the semi-biographical show, Ansari plays Dev Shah, an actor in New York navigating career and love. The duo is in the middle of writing the second season for the show.
