Actor Salman Khan, who filed his response to the Maharashtra State Women's Commission on Wednesday, has reportedly refused to apologise for his controversial rape remark. His counsel said, “We have cited references and informed the commission that the women's commission does not have the jurisdiction to take matter of this kind.”

MSCW chief Vijaya Rahatkar also confirmed receiving the response and said, "Maharashtra State Commission for Women is going through the contents of Salman's reply and will soon decide its next course of action.” The MSCW had summoned him twice before on June 29 and July 7 and had asked the actor to appear before the panel on Thursday too.

Khan sparked controversy after he said that the rigorous shooting sessions for his recent film Sultan, in which he plays a wrestler, made him feel like a "raped woman". The women’s commission sought an explanation from the actor for such an analogy.

The National Commission for Women had also issued summons to Khan to appear before it on July 8 after it found the actor’s response on the matter unsatisfactory. But the 50-year-old actor defied the summons. NCW member Ranjana Kumari said that if Khan apologises, the matter can be settled, dna reported. “Salman Khan is not understanding the damage he is doing to himself and the film fraternity. He has violated the dignity of women,” Kumari said.
