Two quick goals in the first ten minutes of the second half powered Portugal to the final of Euro 2016, as they defeated Wales 2-0 in the first semi-final in Lyon on Wednesday.

After a cagey first half, Portugal burst into life thanks to a brilliant header from their captain Cristiano Ronaldo in the 50th minute. The Real Madrid star was in the thick of things three minutes later, providing the assist to Nani to double Portugal's lead. Wales reacted by making a flurry of substitutions, but despite getting quite a few chances, were not able to breach Portugal's stubborn defence.

Portugal will now play of the winner of the second semi-final between Germany and France in the final on Sunday. This will be Portugal's second final appearance at a European Championship after they finished runners-up to Greece in 2004.
