Minister for State, Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiju on Wednesday said that Islamic preacher Zakir Naik’s speech was a “matter of concern” and that “agencies were working on it”, PTI reported. Naik was followed by one of the terrorists who carried out the attack on a café in Dhaka last week, according to Bangladeshi media. Twenty civilians died in the incident.
In a lecture aired on an international channel Peace TV, Naik reportedly “urged all Muslims to be terrorists”. Naik founded the Islamic Research Organisation in Mumbai. He is banned in the United Kingdom, Malaysia and Canada.
Kiren Rijiju also told members of the media that India has good relations with Bangladesh, especially with regard to fighting terrorism, and said, “Terror can be defeated only through close coordination and by fighting together (against it).”
