Sajan Prakash and Shivani Katariya were chosen as the Indian representatives for the Rio Olympics by the Swimming Federation of India on Tuesday, according to The Hindu.
Prakash, a 22-year old from Kerala will participate in the men's 200 m butterfly even, while Katariya, from Delhi, will participate in women's 200 m freestyle.
The two swimmers were chosen by the Universality rule, which allows one male and one female swimmer to participate in the Olympics if no swimmer from the country has managed to qualify.
"Sajan has been a consistent performer this season,"said national coach Pradeep Kumar.
