The Indian contingent at this year's Wimbledon started off on a good note with both Leander Paes and Rohan Bopanna progressing to the second round of the Gentlemen's Doubles with their respective partners on Friday.
Rohan Bopanna and his Romanian partner Florin Mergea, seeded sixth in the draw, defeated the Croatian duo of Draganja Marin and Mektic Nikola in straight sets 7-5 7-6 (8-6) in the first round. Leander Paes and his Polish partner Marcin Matkowski also made short work of Taipei's Yen-Hsun Lu and Serbia's Janko Tipsarevic, winning the match in straight sets 6-1 6-3.
