Delhi University has announced its first cut-off list for admissions to courses in 2016. Unlike in earlier years, no colleges have asked for 100% percentages this time, though some cut-off marks have risen. The highest cut-offs this time is at Ramjas College, which has asked for 99.25% for admission to its BCom Honours programme, 98.75% for its BCom course and 98.5% for its economics course.

The highest cut-off for English was SGBT Khalsa’s at 98.75%, for journalism was 97.5% at Lady Shri Ram College, for history was 97.75% at Hindu College, for sociology was 96.5% (also at LSR) and for political science was 98% at Ramjas.

For math, Ramjas College’s cut-off was the highest at 98.5%, and 99% was the highest for electronics, at SGBT Khalsa. Other science stream courses maintained high cut-offs – SBGT Khalsa’s 98.33% for both physics and chemistry, 98% at PGDAV for computer science, 96% for botany at Miranda House and 96.7% for zoology, also at Miranda House.

This is the first year the cut-offs were made available online. This year, DU has also made the application for the sports and ECA category centralised and available online. More than 2,50,000 students have applied for the 54,000 seats across 63 colleges, reported Hindustan Times. The second cut-offs will be announced on July 5.
