Britons heartbroken over the Brexit vote will soon have a dating app exclusively for them. Those who voted for Britain to “remain” in the European Union can use “Remainder” – now a website – to “find a bit of comfort”. “Remainder was developed by two ordinary voters who wanted to cheer everyone up after a dismal day,” the website said.

While Remainder started out as a joke on Friday, after results of the British referendum on June 23 were announced, as many as 1,61,41,241 people signed up for it since the website was launched, a statement said. “We’re launching the app ASAP. But we’re just two ordinary voters. We’re crowdfunding the investment needed to get the app and service completed, up and running,” it said, adding that they were “dependent on the goodwill of friends, friends of friends, and fellow ‘Remainers’”.

The United Kingdom had voted 52% to 48% to exit the European Union. The decision has had global repercussions, and following the verdict, British Prime Minister David Cameron announced his resignation.
