Aam Aadmi Party legislator Dinesh Mohaniya on Saturday was arrested in Delhi, reported ANI. His arrest follows an FIR filed against him for allegedly threatening and harassing a group of women who had visited his office to make a complaint about their irregular water supply. Mohaniya is vice-chairman of the Delhi Jal Board. Mohaniya, however, denied the incident took place and told ANI, “There is no videographic or photographic proof to back their allegation.”
The FIR was filed under IPC Section 506 (criminal intimidation), Section 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and Section 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt). On Friday, a separate FIR was filed against Mohaniya after he was accused of slapping an elderly citizen.
