Police arrested a man in Delhi on Wednesday in connection with the Udta Punjab leaked online case, reported PTI. The arrested person reportedly has no links to the Central Board of Film Certification.
A copy of the version that was submitted to the CBFC was made available online on several torrentz sites two days prior to its June 17 release. Producers Balaji Motion Pictures and Phantom Films had lodged a complaint with Mumbai police's cyber crime cell after the movie was leaked.
Screengrabs of the copy posted online showed that the version uploaded was likely a copy submitted to the CBFC, as some scenes on it were those that the censor board had wanted to be cut. However, the CBFC denied it had any connection with the movie's online leak.
