The Ministry of External Affairs confirmed that two Indians were among 25 killed in terror attacks in Afghanistan on Monday. The two, who were from Dehradun, worked as security officials at Kabul’s Canadian embassy. Fourteen security workers were killed when their mini-bus was attacked on Monday. In total, 25 people died in three separate terror strikes that the Islamic State and Taliban claimed responsibility for.
A wave of violence has struck the country, days after the United States announced expanding their military's authority to conduct air strikes against the Taliban, which is also a supportive boost for Afghanistan’s own military.
The blasts come during the holy month of Ramzan that began in June 6. Earlier, Muslim religious scholars had asked the Taliban to stop hostilities during Ramzan, but the group called the time a “month of holy war (jihad)”, reported IANS.
