The Aam Aadmi Party on Saturday hit out at Finance Minister Arun Jaitley after he accused the party of denying advertisement revenue to media houses that are critical of their government in Delhi. AAP leader Somnath Bharti asked that the minister look "at his own conduct" and that of the Bharatiya Janata Party's. Jaitley, in an interview, had said, "While “friendly” media is being given advertisements, media houses which are critical of the AAP government are being denied ad revenue."

Bharti also said, “I would ask Jaitleyji, what is the need of advertisement of the Haryana Government in Delhi and other states; what is the need of advertisement of the Kerala government in Delhi and other states; what is the need of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh government’s ads in other states.”

He also asked for explanation from the finance minister for recently spending Rs 2,000 crore to celebrate the second anniversary of the Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre.
