A man was killed and five others injured in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, on Thursday, after a clash over a caricature of Sonia Gandhi that was circulated on WhatsApp. The victim was a Congress party worker. Police have reportedly registered a case of assault and murder against people involved in the dispute, but no arrests have been made yet.
The clash took place outside the Vijay Nagar police station, Hindustan Times reported. Three of those injured remain in critical condition. Superintendent of Police, Inderjeet Bakalwar said, “We used force multiple times to disperse the two groups near the Vijay Nagar police station, but members of both groups returned again to indulge in violence.”
