India won their fourth match of the Hockey Champions Trophy, defeating South Korea 2-1 in a thriller in London on Tuesday.
India dominated for large portions of the match with Korea defending stoutly and denying India a goal. But SV Sunil broke the deadlock in the 39th minute with a fierce strike which was the culmination of a flowing counter-attacking move by his team.
However, Korea thought they had snatched a point right at the end with Kim Juhun equalising in the 57th minute. But India shot back immediately in their next move, taking advantage of a defensive error from Korea with Nikkin Thimmaiah putting India in front again.
With this win, India go up to second place in the table with seven points, giving themselves a great chance to qualify for the final. Their next game is against Australia on Wednesday.
