Brazil were knocked out of the Copa America Centenario at the group stage after they crashed to a 1-0 loss against Peru in their final group game. There was plenty of controversy in the sole goal that was scored during the game, after it appeared that Peru had committed a handball.
Brazil needed a win or a draw to progress, but were insipid through the match. A cross from Andy Polo was "handled" back into the net by Ruidiaz, who took the ball from Brazil keeper Alisson. Chaos ensued and after some deliberation, the referee finally decided that the goal stood. This remained the final score-line as Brazil were knocked out and Peru progressed to the quarter-finals, where they will meet Colombia.
