Aman Bansal from Jaipur has topped the Joint Entrance Examination (advanced) 2016, the results of which were declared on Sunday on the official website jeeadv.ac.in. Bhavesh Dhingra from Yamuna Nagar came in second, and Kunal Goyal from Jaipur ranked third, The Indian Express reported.
As many as 1,98,000 students had cleared the JEE (Main) and qualified for the examination, held across the country for admission to engineering courses on May 22. The exam was conducted by IIT-Guwahati along with the Joint Admission Board 2016. According to the organisers, a student who gets a rank in the exam does not automatically get through to IITs or ISMs.
Admission to prestigious colleges depend on the position in the rank list, which is prepared on the basis of aggregate marks in the exam. The list of All India Ranks of successful candidates was also released on the website. However, students will receive their personalised rank cards later.
