The Indian men's hockey team defeated Great Britain 2-1 to move into the top spot at the Champions Trophy on Saturday in London.
Coming off a narrow 3-3 draw against Germany a day earlier, India's defence looked noticeably sharper and held off attacks from Great Britain before Mandeep Singh put India in front with a field goal in the 17th minute. Harmanpreet Singh doubled the lead in the 34th minute after winning a penalty stroke. Ashley Jackson pulled one back for Britain the very next minute through a penalty corner but though they pressed hard for the equalising goal, India held firm and and got the three points on offer.
