India Post released a stamp with Amazon India on it to mark the third anniversary of their partnership with the e-commerce giant. The picture on the stamp has a boy carrying a carton with Amazon.in written on it.
India's postal department offers "My Stamp" a series of customised stamps on which anyone can get their photo published on one side. It was first launched in 2011. A sheet of this personalised stamp costs Rs 5. “This is the first time that the Department of Post has released a "My Stamp" to commemorate a milestone with an e-commerce marketplace. The launch reinforces the Amazon and India Post relationship,” Karnataka Circle Chief Post Master General Usha Chandrashekar said.
Amazon, which launched in India in June 2013, uses India Post for its deliveries. This way, Amazon gets to provide its services to customers in more than 19,000 pin codes through 1,55,000 post-offices across all 35 states and Union Territories. Cash on delivery collections for e-commerce parcels has increased from Rs 100 crore in 2013-14 to Rs 1,300 crore in 2015-16, PTI reported.
