India's Leander Paes and Rohan Bopaana were both knocked out of the men's doubles draw of the French Open on Wednesday, after losing their quarter-final matches with their respective partners. Paes and his Polish partner Marcin Matkowski were beaten 6-7 3-6 by the American fifth-seeded pair of Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan. Bopanna and his Romanian partner Florin Mergia lost 4-6 4-6 to Ivan Dodig and Marcelo Melo.
There was some good news for India later in the day, after Sania Mirza and her mixed doubles partner beat French pair Alize Cornet and Jonathan Eysseric 6-7(8) 6-4 10-8 to enter the quarter-finals.
Mirza and Dodig, who are seeded second in the draw, will face the seventh-seeded pair of Max Mirnyi and Yung-Jan Chan in the quarter-finals.
Mirza and her women's doubles partner Martina Hingis were knocked out of the tournament on Sunday.
