Indian goalkeeper Gurpeet Singh Sandu created history on Sunday by becoming the first football player from the country to appear in a top-division European league match. Sandhu played for his Norwegian Tippeligaen club Stabæk FC against Idrettsklubben Start on Sunday. Stabæk thrashed their opponents 5-0, as the 24-year-old Sandhu celebrated the occasion by keeping a clean sheet.
Sandhu is also a regular fixture in the Indian national team and has played for them 10 times.
