- Congress nominates P Chidambaram, Kapil Sibal, Jairam Ramesh to Rajya Sabha: The former finance minister was nominated from Maharashtra, while Ramesh and Sibal were named from Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka.
- V Narayanaswamy announced as next chief minister of Puducherry: The announcement comes more than a week after election results were out.
- Dombivli chemical factory blast death toll is now 12: The NDRF said there was no risk of toxic gases spreading in the area, and the factory owners have been charged with culpable homicide.
- Girls score more than boys in CBSE class X results: Girls got an overall pass percentage of 96.36%, while the boys' average pass percentage was 96.11%.
