There's nothing that Virat Kohli cannot do right now. Royal Challengers Bangalore's Indian Premier League clash with Kings XI Punjab at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Wednesday was delayed by rain. But it was hardly enough to stop Bangalore's current "Superman", Virat Kohli, who got his fourth century of the Indian Premier League season.
Kohli and Chris Gayle tore into the Punjab attack, putting in an unbelievable 147-run opening partnership in just 66 balls. Gayle found his old form back, smashing 73 off 32 balls with eight huge sixes. But after he was and even AB de Villiers (0) were dismissed, he stepped up to the mark. The sixes and the fours flowed as he reached the century mark in only the 14th over. Kohli was ultimately dismissed for a 50-ball 113 and walked off to a standing ovation. What made his innings worthy of the highest praise was that he had played after sustaining a finger injury in the previous match.
Bangalore ultimately reached a jaw-dropping 211/3 in their 15 allotted overs.
