Former Indian cricketer Rahul Dravid has been appointed on the International Cricket Council's Cricket Committee, according to a release from the ICC. Dravid, along with former Australian Tim May, as the representative for current players, replacing former Sri Lankan batsman wicket-keeper Kumar Sangakkara and former Indian leg-spinner Laxman Sivaramakrishnan, who both completed three-year terms.
Former Sri Lankan batsman Mahela Jayawardene has also been appointed on the committee and joins as the past players' representative, replacing former Australian batsman Mark Taylor. India's Anil Kumble has also been re-appointed chairman of the ICC Cricket Committee for a three-year term.
"I am confident that these highly credentialed individuals will carry on the good work of their predecessors to make the sport even more competitive and attractive," said ICC General Manager - Cricket, Geoff Allardice.
