The Indian government has conveyed to its Pakistani counterpart the need for an early and visible progress in the Pathankot airbase terror attack case, reported PTI. Minister of State for Home Haribhai Parathibhai Chaudhary informed the Rajya Sabha that the case is reportedly under investigation in Pakistan.
"The government has emphasised the need for early and visible progress in the investigation in Pakistan of the Pathankot airbase terrorist attack, during the meeting of the Indian Foreign Secretary with the Foreign Secretary of Pakistan on 26 April, 2016," Chaudhary said.
According to the minister, the National Investigation Agency provided evidence and statements from key witnesses showing involvement of terror groups based out of Pakistan to the Joint Investigation Team sent by Islamabad. The team visited India on a three-day trip between 27 and 31 March to gather evidence in the case. The attack, which took place on January 1, left seven security personnel dead and several others injured at the airbase. Indian investigating agencies believe that Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad terror group orchestrated the assault.
