The Rising Pune Supergiants shook off a bad run of form to post their third win of the tournament, defeating the Delhi Daredevils by seven wickets at the Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi on Thursday. Ajinkya Rahane anchored Pune's chase of 163, as they secured their third win of the tournament.
Thanks to healthy contributions from their top order, Delhi Daredevils put up a healthy 162/7 after being put in to bat by the Rising Pune Supergiants. Karun Nair and JP Duminy top-scored with 34 off 32 balls and 32 off 23 balls, while Carlos Brathwaite added the finishing touch, hitting three sixes in his eight-ball 20.
In response, the Supergiants had a strong start as Ajinkya Rahane and Usman Khawaja put on an opening stand of 59 runs. Khawaja was then stumped for 30 off the bowling of Amit Mishra and Saurabh Tiwary was dismissed by Imran Tahir. But Rahane anchored Pune's chase, finishing with an unbeaten 48-ball 63. Mahendra Singh Dhoni added a final flourish with a 20-ball 27,before Thisara Perera hit two huge sixes to take Pune to a much-needed victory.
