FC Goa was on Thursday handed a Rs 11-crore fine, while its two owners Dattaraj Salgaocar and Shrinivas Dempo were banned from attending matches for three and two Indian Super League seasons respectively, after the tournament's regulatory commission announced its verdict on the brawl that took place after last year's final against Chennaiyin FC.

FC Goa had boycotted the presentation ceremony and filed a police complaint against Chennaiyin FC captain Elano Blumer (pictured above in the blue jersey), accusing him of assaulting Salgaocar. Blumer had been arrested after the complaint was filed. The franchise had also alleged that the final, which Chennaiyin FC won 3-2, had been fixed, but later went on to deny saying it, reported The Times of India.

Earlier this week, a video clip of the brawl went viral on social media, showing Blumer going towards the FC Goa dugout and trying to calm things down. The video also shows the FC Goa owners and officials pushing the Brazilian away, the English daily reported. The franchise later claimed that the video had been tampered with.
