Indian boxer Vijender Singh defeated Matiouze Royer to mark his fifth consecutive professional boxing knockout wins in Stratford on Sunday. Singh was declared winner by technical knockout in the fifth round to continue his sterling form in the professional circuit.
The 30-year old from Haryana was in fine fettle from the start, landing quite a few hostile punches, with one bringing the veteran Royer to his knees. Finally in the fifth round, Royer's doctors and the umpires signalled that he would not continue and Singh was awarded the bout. The Haryana boxer has now won all five of his games through knockout or technical knockout.
