A three-storey building collapsed in Mumbai on Saturday afternoon, killing at least five people, IANS reported. More casualties are expected, and reports added that several people remain trapped under rubble. The Sattar Building collapsed in the Kamathipura section of Grant Road around 2 pm, a fire brigade official said.
Family members of some of the victims have alleged that there was repair work on inside the building that was not managed properly, which led to the accident. Congress MLA Amin Patel reportedly said the state's repairs authority should have evacuated the building before work began inside.
