Bharatiya Janata Party MP Ram Prasad Sharma on Wednesday rode a horse to the Parliament, as a sign of his protest against the odd-even number plate scheme implemented in Delhi by the Aam Aadmi Party government. On the horse was a sign that read, “pollution free vehicle”, ANI reported.
Earlier, Parliament members had demanded an exemption from the plan in the wake of the on-going Budget session, saying it disrupted their work. The MPs rejected the air-conditioned Delhi Transport Corporation buses deployed specifically for them to use while the odd-even scheme was in effect, claiming various reasons of inconvenience, NDTV reported.
BJP MP Vijay Goel, who was earlier fined for violating the scheme, came to Parliament on Wednesday in a car covered with news reports and slogans against the plan, while fellow party leader Manoj Tiwari rode a cycle to Parliament.
