Twenty-six-year-old French football player Mamadou Sakho will not be available for selection for matches following reports that he is being investigated for failing a drugs test, confirmed his club Liverpool. "A formal communication was received from Union of European Football Association stating that they are investigating a possible anti-doping rule violation by Mamadou Sakho," said the club, in an official statement.
The club said that though the player has not been suspended yet, he will not be available for selection for matches till the investigation is over. The Metro quoted the French publication RMC Sport as saying that the defender had taken a "fat-burning" drug in personal capacity that broke stringent regulations.
