Bollywood actor Salman Khan will be the Indian contingent's goodwill ambassador at the Rio Olympics 2016, reported ANI. At an official announcement, Khan said, "Message from me to the players would be kuch na kuch lekar ao [get some honours back for the country]." He said he wants to motivate the players to do their best and achieve the best for the country.
The 50-year-old is the first Bollywood actor chosen for the role. Boxing champion and Olympic bronze medallist Mary Kom said that she was happy about the decision, and that Khan would be a great source of motivation for sportspersons at the Olympics, which will be held in August.
