An earthquake of magnitude 6.9 on the Richter Scale struck Myanmar on Wednesday evening, according to the United States Geological Survey. The epicenter was located 74 km southeast of Myanmar's Mawlaik town, the USGS added. Tremors were felt in the eastern parts of India, including Guwahati, Kolkata and Patna, reported NDTV. While buildings were evacuated in Kolkata, there are no reports of any casualties or damage to property yet.
