Pratyusha Bannerjee, a 24-year-old actor popular for her role as Anandi in television soap Balika Vadhu, The Indian Express quoted the Mumbai Police as saying. The actor was pronounced dead at Mumbai's Kokilaben Ambani Hospital after she attempted suicide earlier in the day, BollywoodLife.com reported. Bannerjee's Balika Vadhu co-star Sidharth Shukla confirmed the news to the website, saying, “I also just heard the news and I am shocked. This is indeed very sad and depressing.” The reason for the suicide is not yet confirmed.
