President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Thursday said Turkish authorities had detained and then deported Ibrahim El Bakraoui, one of the two suicide bombers at Brussels airport, reported PTI. He accused Belgium of failing to confirm the attackers links to terror despite warnings.

"One of the Brussels attackers was detained in Gaziantep and then deported on July 14, 2015," Erdogan told reporters in Ankara. He said the suspect was later released by Belgian authorities. Bakraoui's brother Khalid blew himself up at the Maalbeek metro station in Brussels on Tuesday. The second suicide bomber at the airport has been identified as Najim Laachraoui, and his DNA had been found on explosives linked to the Paris attacks in November. Tuesday's explosions killed 35 people and injured several.

According to The Indian Express, Jet Airways has transported its stranded passengers to Amsterdam from where it will operate flights to Mumbai and Delhi on Thursday afternoon. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said the government has stepped up efforts to trace Infosys employee Raghavendran Ganesh who has been missing in Brussels since the terror strikes. "We have been try ing to locate an Indian national since yesterday . His name is not on any list. He has not been responding to any calls or messages. We are still trying to find anything we can," India's ambassador to Belgium and EU Manjeev Puri told the Times of India.
