Three of 10 Pakistani terrorists believed to have entered India earlier this month via Gujarat have been killed, government officials said on Tuesday. The officials could not share information on the whereabouts of the remaining seven for the fear of revealing their security strategies, according various reports. There has been no official communication on the matter yet.

A high alert had been sounded in Gujarat and Delhi earlier this month after National Security Advisor of Pakistan Nasir Khan Janjua had informed his Indian counterpart Ajit Doval that some terrorists believed to be fidayeen from the Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed terror groups had entered the state to carry out attacks. Security at Somnath Temple in the western coast of Gujarat had been heightened as these strikes were reportedly meant to cause havoc during Maha Shivratri festivities.
