The Indian cricket team moved to the top of the world T20 rankings on Monday, a day after they won the Asia Cup final against Bangladesh in Mirpur. India had won the match by eight wickets and will now be seen as favourites to win the ICC World T20 tournament, which they are hosting.
West Indies and South Africa are tied in second place in the rankings, New Zealand is fourth, followed by England, Australia, Pakistan and Sri Lanka rounding out the top eight. The six edition of the ICC World T20 will begin on Tuesday, with Zimbabwe playing Hong Kong in Nagpur. India will play their first match against New Zealand on March 15.
