Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar (pictured above) on Wednesday said action against terror is a bigger priority for Delhi than diplomatic dialogue with Pakistan, reported NDTV. Jaishankar's talks with his Pakistani counterpart were put off indefinitely after the Pathankot air base attacks in January, which killed 13 people. India wants Pakistan to act swiftly against terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammed led by Masood Azhar, which is believed to have orchestrated the attack.
Islamabad has formed a five-member joint investigation team, which is expected to visit India later this month. Pakistan's Foreign Affairs Advisor, Sartaj Aziz, had on Tuesday said Pakistan will investigate the case thoroughly, and if they find any evidence indicating Azhar's involvement in the attacks, they may make him available to Indian agencies for further interrogation. "I think, [Pakistan's] response to [the terrorist attack in] Pathankot has been very positive and prompt. Prime Minister [Nawaz Sharif] immediately called the Indian Prime Minister [Narendra Mod] and said we are ready to co-operate," Aziz has said.
