As the Jat quota protests continued to cripple the railways and roads in Haryana, online travel portal MakeMyTrip.com was found selling flight tickets from Chandigarh to New Delhi for as high as Rs 99,128. dna reported that flights from Chandigarh to Mumbai were listed between Rs 14,041 and Rs 52,632, with the highest price tag for Jet Airways again.
Following media reports, Jet Airways issued a statement, in which it said the fares seen on third-party online travel portals are constructed by the websites themselves and are the combination of fares over multi-stop flights. "These fares are not available on Jet Airways website," the statement said. The carrier added that in many cases, business-class fares are shown as those might be the last seats available on the route. The company also said that it has asked third-party travel portals to not show such roundabout itineraries with the last available seats.
