Eagles of Death Metal frontman Jesse Hughes said on Tuesday that if everyone had guns, the Bataclan concert hall massacre in Paris may not have happened. Ninety people were killed in the November 2015 terror attack at the venue, where the American band was performing. Hughes said France’s strict gun control laws had nothing to do with the attack, but questioned whether gun control had saved any lives at the Bataclan, reported AFP.

"I think the only thing that stopped [the attack] was some of the bravest men that I've ever seen in my life charging head first into the face of death with their firearms. I know people will disagree with me... but that night guns made them equal. And I hate it that it's that way... Until nobody has guns everybody has to have them," he said.

Hughes is a member of the United States's National Rifle Association and a supporter of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. He added, "I don't go anywhere in America without a gun anymore. That sucks. And I'm not paranoid. I'm not a cowboy... but I want to be prepared." The Eagles of Death Metal will perform again at the Bataclan on Tuesday in front of hundreds of survivors of the terror attacks.
