Former media magnate Peter Mukerjea was on Tuesday charged with the murder of his stepdaughter Sheena Bora by the Central Bureau of Investigation. The investigative agency filed a supplementary chargesheet against him in connection with the case at a special Mumbai court. Mukerjea was also charged with destruction of evidence and criminal conspiracy, NDTV reported. According to officials, the chargesheet explains the 59-year-old’s role in the murder.
Mukerjea was arrested in November last year. Times Now reported that the chargesheet says Mukerjea planned the murder of Bora with his wife Indrani Mukerjea, the prime accused in the case. The other two accused in the case are Indrani Mukerjea's ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna and her former driver Shyamvar Rai.
Sheena Bora was allegedly strangled in a car in April 2012, before her body was burnt and dumped in a forest in Maharashtra’s Raigad district. However, the case came to light late last year when her body was found. The CBI suspects that financial transactions led to her murder, PTI reported.
