Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said that the proper implementation of government policies has kept India afloat even as the whole world is reeling under an economic crisis, reported PTI. Addressing a gathering at a function organised to mark the 140th birth anniversary of social reformer Dayanand Saraswati in New Delhi, Modi said it is a unique situation where India is the only country growing at a rapid pace despite a global slowdown. He added that the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund have also recognised India's growth.
The prime minister added that India is "the youngest nation in the world", with 60% of the country's population below the age of 35. Modi said that his government's focus is on how to use the power of the youth for the development of the nation. "By 2030, when the population of many countries will grow old and when they require workforce, India can power these nations with skilled and technically qualified manpower," he added.
