Mukesh Bansal, Flipkarts Head of Commerce and Advertising Business and co-founder of Myntra, quit the e-commerce giant on Wednesday. He will not serve an active role from April, but will continue to act as an advisor to the company. In an interview with Live Mint, he said they had been discussing his departure since October. Binny Bansal, who took over as the chief executive officer in January, will now directly oversee the advertising and commerce fields.
Moreover, Flipkart's Chief Business Officer Ankit Nagori also quit the e-commerce platform on Wednesday to start his own venture in the sports sector. A spokesperson from Flipkart said co-founders Sachin and Binny Bansal were the first investors in his new company, PTI reported.
Mukesh Bansal founded Myntra in 2007 and sold it to Flipkart in 2014. The deal was estimated to be worth about Rs 2,000 crore. He now plans to take a break for the next three to six months, during which he will travel and spend time with his family.
