Armed men stole the car of Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Yadav's son-in-law at gunpoint from a busy Gurgaon road in broad daylight on Wednesday, reported NDTV. Vineet Yadav, who is married to Yadav's daughter Hema, was not in the Toyota Fortuner when two armed men stopped the car, dragged the driver out and fled with the SUV.
Vineet Yadav, who lives in Delhi, had asked his driver Hari Prakash to park the car while he went 100 metres away to meet an RJD leader. Within few minutes, he noticed his SUV moving towards the highway. Initially, he thought Prakash was taking a turn to park on the other side of the road, when the driver came running towards him and said two men had taken the SUV at gunpoint.
Lalu Yadav contacted the Gurgaon police commissioner and expressed his displeasure at the state of security in the city, reported Hindustan Times. The police have registered a case under the Arms Act and have launched a hunt for the accused who were captured on CCTV cameras.
