Home Minister Rajnath Singh said on Wednesday that India will stand by Pakistan if the neighbouring country takes decisive action against terrorists on its soil. Singh said that most of the terrorist attacks in India emanate from Pakistan, adding that the Nawaz Sharif government will have to "show some sincerity and take concrete steps to rein in the various terror groups" operating against India from its soil, reported ANI.

"If Pakistan takes concrete action against terrorists on its territory, it will not only improve bilateral ties between both countries, but will also bring peace and stability in the South Asian region," Singh said. The home minister added that the 26/11 Mumbai attacks and the Pathankot siege have signified a tectonic shift in the way terrorists operated. During the Pathankot airbase attack in January, there was conscious effort to target sensitive assets of the country and to cause largescale casualties, he said.
