Thirteen college students from Pune who had gone to the Murud beach in Maharashtra's Raigad district for a picnic, are feared to have drowned on Monday, reported India Today. The Raigad district police told The Indian Express that the students belong to the Abeda Inamdar College in Pune, from where a group of over 120 students had gone to the beach for a picnic.
The police said that the students could not anticipate the sudden low tide and were dragged into the water. The authorities have managed to recover the bodies of 10 girls and three boys from the water with the help of local residents. The Indian Coast Guard has launched a search for more bodies, reported ANI.
