The Human Resource Development Ministry on Thursday set up a one-member commission comprising retired justice Ashok K Roopanwal to investigate the suicide case of Hyderabad University PhD scholar Rohith Vemula. The commission will re-examine the sequence of events and verify the facts of the case, reported ANI.
The ministry took the decision to establish the judicial commission after the fact-finding committee it set up to investigate the incident submitted its observations in a report. The new commission is expected to submit its report in three months.
