The Shiv Sena on Wednesday reportedly forced the cancellation of an event featuring Pakistani ghazal legend Ghulam Ali in Mumbai. The singer was due to attend a music launch event of filmmaker Suhaib Ilyasi's movie Ghar Wapsi on Friday. Ali has sung a patriotic song for the film, apart from acting in it, reported Times of India. The organisers of the event had approached the Maharashtra government seeking adequate security, said the report.

The Shiv Sena had in October forced the cancellation of Ali's concerts in Mumbai and Pune. The right-wing party is against having cultural and sporting ties with Pakistan.
